Disinfectant ultrasound gel spray

In today’s phlebology, many daily tasks are associated with ultrasound, punctures and catheter access.
We developed a sprayable medium which supplies disinfection and ultrasound contact at the same time. It may also be used adjuvant to spider vein sclerotherapy as it lowers the resistance of the skin and reduces puncture pain. Furthermore, pre-surgical or preintervention shaving of body hair becomes safer, more effective and no cut hair is left when the new medium is applied.
In microbiological investigations the medium proved to be more effective during ultrasound-guided treatments than standard alcoholic disinfection. Color markings may easily be applied or removed. Thus, total interventional treatment times are significantly reduced.
Now industrial partners for mass production and approval are needed. VENARTIS will offer the related patents for free to support phlebology.
